How does oxo-bio work?

Biodegradable plastic is an additive that is put into the basic polymer resin during manufacture of finished products (typically with a 1% inclusion rate)

  1. Breaks the polymer's chains, exposes the plastic molecule to the air and microbes
  2. Plastic then starts degrading at the end of its pre-determined life-span
  3. Process of oxidation – caused by light, heat and stress
  4. Biodegradation completed by micro-organisms

Degradation time

It takes up to 400 years for regular plastic to be completely degraded. Biodegradable plastics can be completely degraded in 2–5 years in a landfill accelerated by light, heat and stress after the d2w and epi is added in the regular plastic material such as PE and PP.
