Bio-Degradable Products

Degradable, Totally Degradable, Oxo-biodegradable, all of these terms refer to the same system and include similar technologies. The common feature of all of these is that the progress of the primary degradation depends on any combination of light, heat, stress, and air.

Oxo-biodegradable plastic is an additive that is put into the basic polymer resin during the manufacturing of finished products (typically with a 1% inclusion rate). It breaks the polymer's chains, exposes the plastic molecule to air and microbes. The plastic then starts degrading at the end of its pre-determined life span. The process of oxidation is completed by micro-organisms while catalyzed by light, heat, and stress.
